Our Management

Y C Koh


Mr Y C Koh was President, Asia, at American Express International, Inc. until 30 June, 2018. He was a member of American Express Global Management Team, a position he held from 2011 until his departure from the corporation. In his last role which he held from January 2013, he was responsible for leading the Consumer Card and Small Business Services in Asia, covering consumer cards issued by American Express across Asia; as well as cards issued by bank partners and financial institutions in more than 10 markets including China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Philippines.

Mr Koh joined American Express International, Inc. on 1st January, 1989. Over the course of his close to 30 years with American Express International, Inc., Mr Koh has accumulated a wealth of experience in driving significant customer acquisition, creating innovative solutions to meet the increasing sophisticated needs and enhance the experience of American Express broad range of customers in Asia.

As the most senior executive of the Asia region, Mr Koh led his team to devise strategies that resulted in strong business growth (both top-line and bottom-line). He also developed compelling value propositions, excellent benefits and services and created many successful programs to enhance customer engagement and experience for customers in Asia. His achievements have been widely recognized, both internally and externally as best in class, under his leadership.

American Express business in Asia had won many external accolades which included Aon Hewitt Best Employers Awards (for multiple markets for multiple years), J D Power Customer Satisfaction Study and many other awards for products and innovations. Mr Koh is a proven leader and veteran in the finance, payment and customer service space.

Mr Koh had assumed a diverse set of leadership roles of increasing responsibilities across a variety of businesses. He was appointed General Manager of Merchant Services, Singapore in early 1993 and was promoted to Director & General Manager, Corporate Card, and Travel Services Group in mid-1994; he subsequently took on the role of Vice President and Head, Human Resources Development, Japan/Asia-Pacific/Australia in 1996. He also held roles as Vice President & General Manager in the Asia- Pacific region for Global Merchant Services, VP & GM, Travelers Cheques & Prepaid Services JAPA, SVP & CEO, International Consumer and Small Business Services. Prior to his most recent role, Mr Koh was the President, Asia, International Consumer and Small Business Services and President, Asia, Card Services. 

Aside from his contribution in American Express, Mr YC Koh also served on the board of directors of several corporations and associations. He served as a board member of LianLian Tech Company (including LianLian Pay) from November 2012 to September 2015. He was also an active member of Spring Singapore, Protem Committee and Services Standards Committee from 2015 to 2018. Previously, he had served as the chairman of the Travel and Tourism Educational Program, Hong Kong, a board member of the American Society of Travel Agents, Singapore and an executive member of the Rewards Committee of the National Association of Travel Agents, Singapore. He is currently a member of the Singapore Red Cross Council. Mr Koh also serves as a member of the Yale Asia Development Council and Pasir Ris Crest Secondary Advisory Committee.

Mr Koh graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor Degree in Arts and Social Sciences (major in Economics and Statistics) and also has a Master Degree in Business Administration.

Joseph Ong

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Ong is a highly accomplished professional with a strong educational background in engineering and business. He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Engineering from a US university and completed the Harvard Business School Management Program in 2011 for senior executives groomed to be CEOs. Additionally, he holds a diploma in Financial Planning and the requisite MAS-required license to provide financial advisory services as a representative of a financial adviser.

With a diverse career, Mr. Ong began as an engineer at Texas Instruments and swiftly advanced, ultimately achieving a leadership role. He played a pivotal role in Ellipsiz being listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange mainboard in the year 2000. Serving as President of the Fab Division until 2008. He oversaw business operations across multiple countries with over 300 staff under his direction and an annual revenue of more than $150 million.

After a substantial tenure in the wafer-fab industry, Mr. Ong transitioned to the financial services sector from 2008 to 2010, providing high-net-worth individuals with expert financial advice spanning taxation, investments, and risk management.

Returning to the wafer-fab industry in 2010, he assumed the role of Director of Logistics at Advanced Micro Devices (“AMD”), overseeing Asian operations with a team of more than 150 logistics professionals across Asia. Leveraging his 20+ years of experience in business management and advisory roles, Mr. Ong possesses insights into regulatory frameworks from both the Monetary Authority of Singapore and the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, acquired through his tenure at Ellipsiz and AMD.

In 2018, he co-founded Galilee Investment Management Pte Ltd, a MAS-approved Registered Fund Management Company, focusing on private equity and fixed income investments in emerging markets.

Lawrence Lim

Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Lim has over 20 years of experience in business and operations management in different organizations ranging from multinational technology company to local leading-edge technology start-ups. He has a Bachelor (Honors) and Master Degree in Electrical Engineering from the USA.

Between 1999 to 2005, Mr. Lim participated in two different leading-edge technology start-ups as the Operations Manager and General Manager respectively. In the latter, Mr. Lim has full P&L responsibilities. Mr. Lim assumed various business management roles at the world’s #3 Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) company, JCET (formerly STATS ChipPAC Limited). As Deputy Director – Business Management, he was directly involved in the company’s strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&As) initiatives. In this role, he supports, for each M&A initiative, market research, competitive and strategic fit analyses, prospects scanning and cross-functional due diligence activities. Mr. Lim built business case, financial and valuation models with analytics, including accretion and dilution analyses, comparable company analysis, discounted cash flow analyses and KPI sensitivity analyses, that helped structured key transaction terms that led to multiple successful M&As deals, worth in excess of US$150M, for the company. 

Separately, he developed and deployed various management Dashboards tracking key performance indicators (KPI) that led to enhanced business pipeline health and performance for the various business units within the company. His last position held with the company was Director – Group Supply Chain Management.
