Chairman

Mr Y C Koh was President, Asia, at American Express International, Inc. until June 30, 2018. He was a member of American Express Global Management Team, a position he held from 2011 until his departure from the corporation. In his last role which he held from Jan, 2013, Y C was responsible for leading the Consumer Card and Small Business Services in Asia, covering consumer cards issued by American Express across Asia; as well as cards issued by bank partners and financial institutions in more than 10 markets including China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Philippines.

Mr Koh joined American Express International, Inc. on Jan 1, 1989. Over the course of his close to 30 years with American Express International, Inc., Mr Koh has accumulated a wealth of experience in driving significant customer acquisition, creating innovative solutions to meet the increasing sophisticated needs and enhance the experience of American Express broad range of customers in Asia.

As the most senior executive of the Asia region, Mr Koh led his team to devise strategies that resulted in strong business growth (both top-line and bottom-line). He also developed compelling value propositions, excellent benefits and services and created many successful programs to enhance customer engagement and experience for customers in Asia. His achievements have been widely recognized, both internally and externally as best in class, under his leadership.

American Express business in Asia had won many external accolades which included Aon Hewitt Best Employers Awards (for multiple markets for multiple years), J D Power Customer Satisfaction Study and many other awards for products and innovations. Mr Koh is a proven leader and veteran in the finance, payment and customer service space.

Mr Koh had assumed a diverse set of leadership roles of increasing responsibilities across a variety of businesses. He was appointed General Manager of Merchant Services, Singapore in early 1993 and was promoted to Director & General Manager, Corporate Card and Travel Services Group in mid-1994; he subsequently took on the role of Vice President and Head, Human Resources Development, Japan/Asia-Pacific/Australia in 1996. He also held roles as Vice President & General Manager in the Asia- Pacific region for Global Merchant Services, VP & GM, Travelers Cheques & Prepaid Services JAPA, SVP & CEO, International Consumer and Small Business Services. Prior to his most recent role, Mr Koh was the President, Asia, International Consumer and Small Business Services and President, Asia, Card Services. Aside from his contribution in American Express, Mr YC Koh also served on the board of directors of several corporations and associations. He served as a board member of LianLian Tech Company (including LianLian Pay) from Nov 2012 to Sept 2015. He was also an active member of Spring Singapore, Protem Committee and Services Standards Committee from 2015 to 2018. Previously, he had served as the chairman of the Travel and Tourism Educational Program, Hong Kong, a board member of the American Society of Travel Agents, Singapore and an executive member of the Rewards Committee of the National Association of Travel Agents, Singapore. He is currently a member of the Singapore Red Cross Council. Mr Koh also serves as a member of the Yale Asia Development Council and Pasir Ris Crest Secondary Advisory Committee.

Mr Koh graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor Degree in Arts and Social Sciences (major in Economics and Statistics) and also has a Master Degree in Business Administration.
